Frequently Asked Questions
Below, we prepared a few answers on typical questions related to our meeting. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact us!
Will I recieve a certificate confirming my participation?
Yes. All registered participants will receive a digital certificate of attendance after the symposium, specifying their contribution (oral/poster). Certificates will be sent by email in the days after the event. Please ensure your name and institutional affiliation are correctly entered in your registration — these details will appear on the certificate.
Erlangen is a rather small city, which is why accomodation is sometimes limited when there are multiple events in town. We therefore recommend to book your accomodation early.
How do I get to Erlangen?
Public transport: Erlangen is well-connected by train and long-distance bus services. You can either find direct connections to Erlangen or switch to local trains in Nuremberg that take ~30 min to reach the Erlangen train station.
Car: Erlangen is directly located at A73 between Nuremberg and Bamberg and can be easily reached from A3 as well.
Plane: The closest airport is Nuremberg airport, from where there is a direct bus connection to the Erlangen city center.
How do I reach the symposium venue?
Adress: Ulmenweg 18, Erlangen. As Erlangen is relatively small, the venue is easily accessible from anywhere within the city. Most people living here get everywhere walking or using (rental) bikes. Alternatively, you can get here by Bus – nearby stops are “Erlangen Schwabachanlage” or “Erlangen Unikliniken / Maximiliansplatz”. We recommend using Google Maps or the VGN website to organize your transport.
Can I park near the venue?
Close to the venue, there is a visitors parking center (Kussmaulallee 14, 91054 Erlangen). Parking here is rather cheap with 1€/hour. However, particularly during rush hours and around shift changes from the hospital staff it get’s reasonably busy. We recommend to park elsewhere (e.g. Parkplatzstraße, 91054 Erlangen) and get to the venue by bike, scooter or bus.
How can I register?
Currently, registration is not yet possible. If you want to be informed when you can register, feel free to register for our newsletter on our homepage and we’ll keep you posted!
What is the registration fee?
There will be no registration fee – the symposium is free for active participants. Regarding your other expenses, please refer to the section on Travel Grants below.
Will there be Travel Grants?
Probably yes – we’ll provide an update here in due course!
Will there be food provided on Thursday and Friday?
Yes, we plan to provide Lunch and Coffee Breaks for all active participants. Lunch will be at Palmeria, the cafeteria of the university hospital which is right next to the lecture hall. In addition, there will be a social dinner on thursday afternoon which needs to be booked and paid seperately.
How is the social evening organized?
We are currently in contact with different locations to find a suitable solution. We plan to have a joint dinner and thereafter visit local bars within the city center.
